While I might have been saying that Trump is a very dangerous tyrant from day 1, principally because of his stupid and incompetent self-serving actions, a majority might have disagreed.
That’s no longer the case. Now that we are 100 days in, the reality of what he is all about is beginning to sink in.

Roughly three months into President Donald Trump’s second term, White evangelical Protestants continue to be among his strongest supporters:
- 72% approve of the way Trump is currently handling his job as president.
- 69% rate the ethics of top Trump administration officials as excellent or good.
- 57% say they trust what Trump says more than what previous presidents said.
Well yes, of course they do. These are the people who have cornered the hypocrisy market, and if ever faced with Jesus would immediately deport him as an undesirable brown-skinned Satanic guy from the middle east who was spouting communist propaganda.

The word “delusional” does not even begin to scratch the surface here. As I often point out, it really is a cult in which those within it literally worship dear leader, and have given their heart of soul to their Lord and Saviour, the orange messiah.
The problem we have is not just the Turd-in-Chief alone, it’s the cult that he has radicalised. When he is gone, they will still be there.
It also perhaps explains the strategy advocated by some democrats – just sit back and let his supporters have exactly what they voted for.
It is not really a surprise. White Evangelicals have time after time, again and again, demonstrated how deeply incapable they are in spotting religious Bullshit, and so they fall prey to every religious fraudster who rocks up and starts grifting off them by claiming to be a “prophet”. Should we really be surprised that they also can’t discern political bullshit either?
What can one say except to perhaps welcome you to your seat in the exploding clown car that we are now all sitting in.
I would have faith in better outcomes going forward if I felt that people were actually learning lessons and getting more informed. I’m not sure they are, but maybe lots more pain will be the teacher we need to cut through the shit and motivate a majority to make responsible choices next year and beyond.
